Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 August 2026

Draft — not yet in force. Everything in square brackets must be completed before this site goes live: the registered company name and UEN, the name and contact address of the Data Protection Officer, and the retention period. A policy with placeholders in it is not a policy.

This policy explains how [COMPANY NAME] Pte. Ltd. (UEN [UEN]), trading as Red Thread ("we", "us"), collects, uses, discloses and cares for personal data, in accordance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 ("PDPA"). It applies to this website, to enquiries you send us, and to everything that follows if you become a client.

1. What we collect

When you send an enquiry through this website, we collect the details you enter: your name, age, marital status, mobile number, email address, your preferred contact method and time, and whatever you tell us in the message field.

If you go on to engage us, we collect a good deal more, because the service does not work otherwise. That typically includes identity and marital-status documents, your occupation and general financial position, your family circumstances, photographs you give us to share, your health where you choose to disclose it, and notes of our conversations and of introductions made. We collect it directly from you.

2. Why we collect it

  • To respond to your enquiry and arrange the first consultation.
  • To assess whether we can help you, and to prepare your brief.
  • To make introductions — and only what you have specifically approved for that purpose.
  • To verify identity and marital status, which protects the person on the other side as much as you.
  • To provide the support that follows an introduction, including travel, interpreting and guidance on registration and pass applications.
  • To keep records we are required to keep, and to deal with any dispute.

3. Consent

We collect, use and disclose personal data only with your consent, or where the PDPA otherwise permits it. Submitting the enquiry form is your consent for us to contact you about your enquiry. It is not consent for anything else, and we do not add you to a mailing list.

You may withdraw consent at any time by writing to our Data Protection Officer. We will act on it within a reasonable period and tell you what the consequences are — in most cases, that we can no longer provide the service. Withdrawal does not affect anything already lawfully done.

4. Who we share it with, and who we don't

Nothing about you is shared with any woman without your specific approval of exactly what she sees. Beyond that, we disclose personal data only:

  • to interpreters, translators and travel providers where that is necessary to deliver a service you have asked for, and only the minimum they need;
  • to our own service providers (for example, the form and email providers that carry your enquiry to us), who are bound to protect it;
  • where we are required to by law, or by a court, or by a regulator.

We never sell personal data, never rent it, and never pass it to a third party for their own marketing.

5. Transfers out of Singapore

Delivering this service necessarily involves people and providers in Vietnam. Where personal data is transferred out of Singapore, we take steps to ensure it receives a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA, and we transfer only what is genuinely needed for the purpose you approved.

6. How long we keep it

We keep personal data only for as long as it serves the purposes above or as the law requires, and no longer. Enquiries that do not proceed are deleted within [RETENTION PERIOD, e.g. 12 months]. Client records are deleted [RETENTION PERIOD] after the engagement ends, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

7. Keeping it safe

We take reasonable security arrangements to protect personal data against loss and unauthorised access, use or disclosure — access limited to those who need it, encrypted transmission, and no publication of client information anywhere, at any time, including in testimonials or marketing.

8. Your rights of access and correction

You may ask us what personal data we hold about you and how it has been used or disclosed in the past year, and you may ask us to correct anything inaccurate. Write to the Data Protection Officer below. We will respond as soon as reasonably possible; a reasonable fee may apply to an access request, and we will tell you the amount before proceeding.

9. Cookies

This website sets no tracking or advertising cookies and runs no analytics or advertising pixels. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which will see your IP address as part of serving them.

10. Data Protection Officer

We have appointed a Data Protection Officer as required by the PDPA. Any question, request or complaint about personal data should go to them:

  • [DPO NAME], Data Protection Officer
  • Email: dpo@redthread.sg
  • Post: [REGISTERED ADDRESS]

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may raise the matter with the Personal Data Protection Commission of Singapore.

11. Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version appears on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes affecting existing clients will be notified directly.
